About CatRangers

Rescuing the Forgotten. Placing with Love.

CatRangers is a licensed 501(c)(3) urgent-need animal rescue dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens facing critical situations. Founded in 2005, our mission began with a bold effort to save a large feral cat colony at Lake Lanier, Georgia, that was marked for destruction. What started as a two-year partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers turned into a life-saving program that laid the foundation for what CatRangers is today.

Since then, CatRangers has rescued over 9,000 cats and kittens, placing them in safe, loving homes. We also provide medical care, food assistance, and compassionate support to families in need—especially for senior cats and those with special needs, who often have no other place to go. That’s why we’re proud to call ourselves the “Special Forces” of cat rescue.

We focus exclusively on urgent rescues: cats at risk of euthanasia in shelters, those abandoned or injured, or displaced due to crisis. Every cat we save is given a second chance to heal and thrive in foster homes or at our Adoption Center in Buford, Georgia, where they await their forever families.

CatRangers takes extra steps to ensure lifelong success for each adoption. Every adopter undergoes a virtual—or when needed, in-person—home review. And if life circumstances ever change, our “return for life” promise ensures that no cat adopted through CatRangers will ever be homeless again.

We know this careful process may mean fewer adoptions, but we believe in quality over quantity—because every cat deserves not just a home, but the right home.

Compassionate Cat Rescue for Families in Crisis

At Cat Rangers we do more than rescue cats—we support the people who love them. We’re here for families and individuals facing life’s most difficult moments, whether it's surrendering a beloved pet due to illness, loss, or personal crisis.

We walk alongside those making heartbreaking decisions, offering reassurance that their furry loved ones will be safe, cherished, and deeply cared for. One of the most meaningful parts of our mission is helping someone—like a terminally ill pet parent—find peace in knowing their cats will be loved long after they’re gone.

We honor not just the cats we rescue, but the people connected to them. Every surrender is treated with empathy, dignity, and understanding.

If you're facing an urgent situation, you're not alone—and your cat won't be either.

CatRangers Adoption Center is openfor visitors are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between noon and 4:00 pm and Thursday and Sunday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. All other days/times are available by appointment only.
